2025 Ashli Rose Wines Rosé $38

Australia has climbed from the world's 27th largest Rosé market in 2014 to 10th largest in 2024 and is expected to grow at a rate of 1 per cent per year over the next five years. That was one of the take-home messages from a Wine Australia market bulletin distributed last October. Driving the trend in Australia are Gen Z and Millennials.
Iron Pot Bay winemaker Ashli Rose Mani fits into those demographics, so it's no wonder she's been able to put together such an attractive, fresh young wine under her own brand, clearly one that's good to share with family and friends.
This 'Fieldes Blend' is a quirky red/white mix. Well-made. Nicely packaged. Delicious drinking.
What's not to like?
The label pays respect to Iron Pot Bay neighbour and Rowella resident Geoff Fieldes, whose help and advice in managing the vineyard block gave Ashli Rose some great material to begin her winery wizardry.
Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Gris somehow combine to create a dry savoury wine that stylistically dips its lid to Provence on the other side of the planet. Subtle strawberry and raspberry notes combine with a neat little bit of texture on the palate to make it eminently food-friendly across a diverse range of dishes – from informal anipasto platters and smoked salmon entrees to lightly spiced and savoury Middle Eastern or Thai cuisine.
Practically fresh off the bottling line, the wine picked up a silver medal at the 2026 Tasmanian Wine Show judged back in January. Small Wonder's trophy winner was the only gold.
That noted, these wines are all about kicking back in the spring sunshine and simply letting the world just pass you by for a while. Glug, glug…
